We use UTM-1 edges on our ships.
Primary internet is using a UMTS router.Secondary internet (no load balancing) is using a satcom IP connection.
Is it possible to assign different firewall policy for both connections?
Example:
- for primary we would like to open http and some special mail ports.
- for secondary we would like to open only mail ports.
Default Different FW policy for primary & secondary internet?
DHCP woes
I was previously loadbalancing 2 lines with pfSense but wanted to try MLPPP bonding, i replaced my pfsense box with the RB750 and the problem i’m having is my PC upstairs refuses to get a DHCP lease yet works fine if i manually set an IP on the interface.(…)
This configuration worked fine with pfSense and pretty much any other router ive used, however with the RB750 the pc connected to the 160N upstairs wont get an Ip, the IP phone connected to the same AP does, also Laptops and devices that are connecting directly to the AP downstairs seem to be able to DHCP an IP just fine
WISP equipment recomendations
I am considering becoming a WISP for a small community of about 100 clients in a radius of about 6 miles. I will be located in about the center of the community. I’d like to set this up with minimal cost.
I already have a Dual WAN load balancer. I need recomendations on Client CPE, AP antennas and radios and a Bandwidth controller capable of setting the subscribed bandwidth of each client. Which frequency band should I use for client access? We have 2.4Ghz activity in the area(home wireless routers).
Juniper-Cisco Vrrp problem
I have cisco 3845 and juniper J2320 router. Configured VRRP on both devices. With the change in priority cisco router goes to master and backup state. But Juniper J2320 router still remains in master state even when priority on cisco device is increased.
Problem with configuration sync on SRX chassis cluster, and management IP
It´s possible to access the devices at the same time, when de cluster is working right trought the IP that i have assigned to fxp0 interface? or i only can access to the primary device IP address? for instance, i have assigned 10.0.0.125/24 to the primary device and 10.0.0.126/24 to the secondary, when the two devices are active, i can only access to primary device, when the cluster failover i can access to the secondary device throught its IP. It’s that normal?
Another problem, when the cluster is in failover, if i perform a change in one of the firewalls, the configuration is not synchronized when the cluster comes up again. what is the problem? the configuration have to be synchronized automatically or i have to perfom a command?
