Has anyone ever created a load monitor for Oracle that will perform a query, and use the results of that query to set the weight on the backend?
I see a MySQL load monitor (I tried it anyway and couldn’t get it to work) but nothing from Oracle…
Anyone?

OVH Load balancing
If i was to use OVH load balancing does every port get forwarded through the load balancer or can you define just 80/443 etc?
Would i need to assign the load balancer IP to every server? And I also use iptables with the “destination IP” set, so would i also need to use the load balancer IP in there too? Or would the servers only see requests directed at their main IPs?
PHP Cluster?
Does anyone know if it is possible to set up a PHP cluster?
I’m not sure if load balancing covers this (I thought PHP load balancing would direct the same session to the same node), but I’m thinking of a concept where a PHP request is distributed amongst the cluster and executed.
Any thoughts?
Load Balancing by Least CPU Usage
I’m seeking some general guidance, or even speculation on how one may achieve load balancing based on cpu and memory usage. The idea is this: I have a 4 terminal servers awaiting usage, and in front of them I have a pair of load balancers issuing this cluster a virtual IP. So ideally these load balancers would hand off each terminal connection request to the least busy terminal server. Are these terminal servers MS? Nix? Doesn’t matter to me yet. I’m just looking to see if this is an achievable model.
Secondly, may this be achievable with Layer 4 load balancing? I’ve never dealt with Layer 7, and in some ways it seemed fitting considering we are dealing with the application level here, but then again we are dealing with one service alone.
Any advice/insight is most welcome, thanks!
Load Balancing Datapower for High Availability
We have a requirement to implement a number of XB60’s in a n+1 high availability / resilient configuration using a single externally facing VIP behind a Load Balancer pair and need information on the types load balancers from various vendors that have been used to load balance 2 or more datapower appliances.
